Never give up on a good idea
Lesley Jane Seymour is a Keynote Speaker, MC & Panel Moderator, Podcaster, Television Personality, Social Media and Sustainability Expert, Reinvention Guru, Mentor, Entrepreneur and Connector.
She has worked/edited many top women's magazines (Redbook, Marie Claire, Vogue) and as the print world got smaller she knew it was time for a change.
She tested her idea with a kickstarter program, and Six-hundred-twenty-seven followers took a 54-question survey that allowed Lesley to create a roadmap to the CoveyClubofferings.
Today she has a thriving community where her community feels safe to talk about the things they want to talk about (and you can't find any place else).
CoveyClubgives us a place to find like-minded, strong women who are trying to navigate that winding path through reinvention. It fills a void in every segment of media: women 40+
The key is knowing your audience, and she started with a survey, and then a campaign to fund it. Doing this allows you to know what people want, and the test if they are willing to pay for it.
I loved that she was willing to try something she wasn't sure if it would work (Type A Presentations) and when they did, she double-downed on them.
If you want people to open up, and be vulnerable, you HAVE to have a save place, and that's why her audience wouldn't say anything on Facebook, but are willing to share on Mighty Networks.
